Dumfries & Galloway, South-West Scotland — 18 miles west of Dumfries
Dumfries & Galloway sits in the south-west corner of Scotland, a broad, unhurried region of wooded valleys, open moorland and a coastline that stretches for over 200 miles. It’s less visited than the Highlands — which is precisely the point. The roads are quiet, the landscapes are dramatic, and the pace of life here is entirely its own.
The farm sits 18 miles west of Dumfries — about 30 minutes along country roads — surrounded by rolling hills, working farmland and ancient forests. It’s genuinely remote: the skies are dark at night, the surrounding landscape is all hills and farmland, and the nearest town requires a car. That’s the trade-off, and for most guests, it’s the whole appeal.
On the edge of Galloway International Dark Sky Park — one of only a handful in the world — the Milky Way spreads across the sky on a clear night and the Aurora Borealis makes an occasional appearance from the garden.
The farm is genuinely remote — but well placed for exploring Dumfries & Galloway’s remarkable variety.

Dumfries station is on a branch line from Carlisle — about 30 minutes by taxi from there. The farm is only accessible by car from either station.
